Weekend Recap: Chincoteague-take 2

There’s something to be said about the healing qualities of the ocean, absolutely remarkable.  We really lucked out with such gorgeous weather and milder nights; I hope that all of you had a wonderful, warm and memorable start to your summer season.

I spent time catching up with my family, getting lost in books, zoning out to music and enjoying runs on the beach. It’s the small details that made me happiest: the smell of sunscreen, taste-testing homemade ice cream, sand under the feet, browsing through the colorful patterns and light fabrics in the surf shops, catching a noseful of the campfire smells as the wind picks up, stepping into the shower to wash away the sand, salt and stickyness of the daytime, passing out early and easily after a full day in the sun, and the sound of tent zippers that reminds me of childhood vacations in Vermont.

What now?

  • Cannot get enough of this lip synced proposal, I already downloaded the song. I don’t know if it’s the synchronized friends, the marching band or the dancing jews, but I would have said yes and I don’t even know him. I could watch it 100 times over and still think its absolutely adorable
  • The Camp Counselor vs. The Intern Having spent two summers as a camp counselor, I found this article interesting.
  • 20 things I should have known at 20. ’nuff said.
