Enjoying the light

Welcome back, right? I’ve been horribly MIA between some events at work, preparing for  a trip to Long Island, my family vacation up north and a spontaneous road trip to Atlantic City this past weekend (talk about an adventure). Sometimes you need a little time just to spend on having a little time; zoning out and falling off the schedule does amazing things for peace of mind. Sand and sunshine don’t hurt either.

You know the feeling when you just get back from vacation and wind up needing recovery days? Sure, I’ll admit it sounds like a first-world problem: “It was so rough hanging out at my beach house in Long Island”, but it’s exactly where I am right now. To be honest, all I want to do is sleep for 2 days and spend the next 2 running errands and organizing my life. Instead, it’s back to a schedule of working, yoga and pilates classes, small group, bible study and OF COURSE catching you up on recent events, eats, recipes, tunes, books and deep thoughts from the past two weeks-but to be fair, I’ll love every moment. How can I complain?

Before I get into too much detail about the last couple weeks, here are some highlight shots to hold you over:

“He saved my soul from going down into the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light” Job 33:28

What now?

  • For the running playlist: “In for the Kill” by La Roux (Skrillex remix)
  • What celebrities would look like if they moved to Oklahoma (sorry to those of you who actually live in Oklahoma).
  • Suffer from frequent headaches? Next time you feel the pain, try these yoga poses while your pills kick in
