I am SO jazzed for Thanksgiving. Four days, people! Family, food, traditions (like the CLASSIC pineapple turkey centerpiece, below), food…jazzed. This is actually the first year everyone will be contributing something to the meal and I’m most excited about bringing a little bit of my own love to the table, literally, through creativity and food.

Creating something to share excites me because cooking is one of my favorite ways to love on the people in my life. Providing food for someone is a way of caring for a basic need; to me, it’s a practical, straightforward way to demonstrate love. If I care about you, I have likely made food for you. Disclaimer: If we’ve only gone out for burgers, you shouldn’t discount that because I also really love a good burger.
If it brings you joy, if I can create something that makes your belly warm or something that makes you feel cared for, it’s like giving you a gift. If you want to give your family or friends the same gift this Thanksgiving, you don’t have to be the best cook there is, and you certainly don’t need to dream up new and incredible flavor combinations in your head first.
Below are a few things I’m serving up this Thursday; they’re flavorful, savory, nutritious and representative of the fall season I love so much. If you’re looking ahead to Thanksgiving and still searching for a way to channel love onto your table, consider one of the three recipes below. Happy Thanksgiving!
