Where does the time go? Last week was a whirlwind of activity with the groundbreaking ceremony at Boulder Crest Retreat Friday afternoon. As you can imagine, every moment leading up to the actual event was filled with preparations, yet I loved each minute of it. Despite all the activity, there was still enough time for morning runs, yoga, Pilates, bible study and reading, I’ve learned that you should never be too busy to make time for yourself. Some shots from the last week:

As I was driving to church this morning I was thinking about how I wish there were more people my age in the area. Sure, there’s a lot to keep busy with, but I definitely miss being around so many people my age back at JMU. Then, the moment I get to church, I run into Danielle (check out her amazing blog here) who was even meeting up with another friend from high school. How amazing is that?!? Just another reminder that He’s up there looking out for us; it made me smile the remainder of the afternoon. The rest of today was spent taking my time at the gym, going on a long walk with my mom, gardening around the blueberries and catching up with neighbors. Not too bad, right?

Next weekend will mark the first beach trip of the summer, and I’ll be praying, crossing my fingers, sending off good vibes and wearing my pajamas backwards hoping for good weather. As long as there’s not too much rain in the forecast, I’ll be heading to Chincoteague Island to spend my nights sleeping in a tent, and my days laying out in the sun, tackling my ever-growing stack of magazines and enjoying the feeling of sand between my toes and salt water on my skin. What are your plans for Memorial Day Weekend?
